Today more than 50 diners sat down to a festive meal of canapes, turkey and ‘pigs in blankets’ with roast potatoes and a selection of vegetables followed by christmas pudding (ceremoniously delivered to the tables with a musical accompaniment), chocolates, and coffee.
Everyone was in good spirits as befits the season – not least because appetites were sharpened with a selection of beverages of both the alcoholic and non-achoholic variety.
Diners enjoyed sherry, prosecco, and a choice of very drinkable wines.
The ladies in particular looked their very best as they took the opportunity to bring out the colours and the glitter to mark the occasion.
As if that was not enough, three members were celebrating birthdays this week, with John Oliver (pictured with wife Rosemary) claiming a magnificent 93 years.
Congratulations again to Mary Magson and her award-winning team of devoted volunteers as they enter their eleventh year of Ticknall Luncheon Club.
